About Joe

First Year
How do I begin to describe my husband? Joe is the most complex and wonderful person I have ever met. So this in no way serves as a complete biography, but more of a wife’s view of the man she is married to.
The quality of Joe’s that always comes to mind first when I think of him is passionate. Joe is one of the most passionate people I know. When he believes in something, he invests his whole being into it. I am the thankful recipient of that passion and drive in our marriage. And that passion is part of why he is where he is today when it comes to basketball. A few years ago on his birthday, I gathered encouraging words from a lot of family and friends asking them to pick one word to describe Joe and then an explanation. And the one word that was picked more than any other was passionate. If Joe is invested in something, it is not done half-heartedly. Joe is also a very affectionate person. He loves to express his love through words and physical actions. I am so thankful our children have him as a dad to hear his constant words of love, receive his hugs and kisses and enjoy play time with him.

To go along with that passion is a very verbal, out-spoken tendency. Joe likes to talk things through and flesh out how things work. His mind is always going, so the need to talk is often great. At the same time, he can be an introvert. Although he does great in social settings, if he had his preference, most time would be spent at home. He loves individual activities like reading, praying, blogging, etc.
Joe is very driven and sets very high standards for himself and those around him. He sees the potential in people and is always pushing them to stretch themselves beyond what they may think they can achieve. He is constantly looking to figure out the best ways to do things, even if that means changing the way he does things constantly. He does not settle for mediocrity.
All of the above, I think most people who know Joe relatively well could see. But the part that only the closest to him get to see is the goofy side. Joe makes me laugh like no one else. And he will do anything to get a laugh out of me. He is by far the most fun person I have ever met.
One of the things I love most about Joe is that he doesn’t fit into a mold. He is intense, but laid back. He is talkative, yet enjoys alone time. He is serious, yet funny. He is logical, yet writes poetry. I love that you cannot pin him into a “type”. He is complex and diverse.
This in no way exhausts all of who Joe is. For more information visit his “About Me” page at his website.
