Spotlight Saturday: Lovey Duds
Posted by: | Comments
One of my favorite baby products that I discovered when Naomi was a baby was my Lovey Dud Baby Wrap. I know there are a lot of similar products out there on the market, so this is just one that I use and has worked well for me. The wrap is easy to use, made of organic cotton, is reasonably priced and comes in a large variety of nice prints. You can carry your baby in a variety of holds with it and it is sturdy enough to hold a child up to 35 pounds. I was a little intimidated at first to try using a wrap, but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Plus it comes with a nice instructional DVD to walk you through how to put it on!
I have also tried the traditional baby carrier (but stopped using it when the concerns about the baby’s hip joints was brought into play), a pouch sling and a ring sling, but none of them worked quiet as well for me as a baby wrap. I love that when we are traveling I can just stuff it in my back pack to use and it doesn’t take up a lot of space or weight. I have already used it a lot with Isaiah and often prefer it to using a stroller when we are out.
I know almost every mommy has a favorite carrier. What would you recommend?
New Sovereign Grace Music Kids’ CD
Posted by: | Comments
We love Sovereign Grace Music in our home. The children’s music might be the most played though. So I was very excited to see that there is a new album out called Walking with the Wise, which is based upon the book of Proverbs. You can preview the songs at their website and also download one of the songs free called Lazy Bones. It looks like another hit along with their past children’s albums, Awesome God (only $6) and To Be Like Jesus. Any album can be purchased as a CD or downloaded as an MP3 album.
As I wrote about 4 months ago, my brother Sean is one of the people I love most in this world. Many of you may have even noticed that our fourth child has the middle name of my brother. Because of our close relationship, my heart was burdened even more when I found out about the death of a fellow basketball player’s sister. Adam Harrington’s sister Jill died on April 26th while pregnant with her first child, Chase. Chase also did not survive. You can read more about Jill, her close relationship with Adam and the impact her life made on others in this article.
I have never personally met Adam, but have gotten to know his fiancee Kearstin through our online community for basketball wives and girlfriends. Both Adam and Kearstin have been a great testimony to the superior joy found in Jesus through this incredibly tough time. It has been an encouragement to me to see the way they have looked to Jesus as their comfort and support.
Now Adam is going even further to use his sister’s death for God’s glory by starting the Jill E. Harrington Hanzalik Memorial Fund. To read more about the mission of the fund, click here to read the mission statement. You can follow progress of the memorial fund by following the twitter feed at http://twitter.com/chasedreamsnow.
You can help support Adam, his family and promote the legacy of his sister in a variety of ways:
