Real Age

By Erin

I know many of us have seen the real age type tests floating around out there on the internet.  But I came across one this morning that I thought was pretty decent at Real Age.  It did a good job of taking into account a variety of areas of life such as family history, relationships, stress, lifestyle, nutrition and exercise.

My results were:
Calendar Age: 30.1 years
Real Age: 23.7 years

I would encourage you to check it out and then take one of their suggestions to make a habit change for the month of February to live healthier.  Building one new healthy habit at a time can make a big difference!

I have no idea what I did, but I think I answered honestly.

Calendar Age 30.6
Real Age 22.7

Maybe because I only have one child?

Great stuff, Maria!

I know for me 2 big factors that were dragging me down were: 1. Not flossing enough! 2. Not enough time for myself (which I would disagree with b/c I actually do have almost 2 hours to myself every morning!) But I guess they assume with having 3 kids in 4 years (and soon to be 4 kids in 6 years) and a homemaker you have no time to yourself!

I think we’ve discovered a bias in the questioning. I didn’t have any questions about spending time alone? Maybe they assumed because I work outside the home?

I was hit for my exercise routine, which I already knew since I basically work out at lunch four times a week most weeks and then I try once on the weekend.

I’ll have to do a Friday Feature on the most wasteful personal care product I own. I justify it because I like using it enough to floss every day!

Ugh that was painful! I’m 29.6 and my real age is 30.3. Booooo!

I definitely think there was a bias there since there was no question about free time!

I also got deducted for having no potassium in my multi-vitamin???

Catherine,
Maybe it gave you some helpful tips on things to work on though?

I dug a little deeper, and I can see why– the board all have conflicts of interest. They all sell products that can “fix” or help you fix the problems discovered by their quiz. It would not pay to ask you how much free time you have or what the rest of your diet does to provide vitamins and nutrients, because they don’t have as much to gain by doing so. Also, I found that the founder’s work is somewhat controversial.

Still fun to see and have a nice jumping off point, but the quiz needs some work. I had not even looked around to check any others, so maybe they are all this way?
